Why UCF? - Eugene Dolgovykh

July 28, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After a solid junior and prep career, Eugene Dolgovykh (Palm Coast, Fla.) arrived at UCF in 2008. He had a productive freshman campaign for head coach Bobby Cashman's Knights, winning 10 matches during the spring.

Dolgovykh began his collegiate career in strong fashion, posting a 7-2 record in tournament action during the fall.

Recently, he took time to share his thoughts on why he decided to attend UCF.

"I chose UCF because I loved the campus and also thought I would fit in great with the team," he said. "I felt that I could make an impact in the tennis program and felt that UCF would be an excellent place to take my game to another level."

Dolgovykh says that his favorite part of UCF is its modern campus.

"UCF is a great place to relax, learn, compete and meet new people," he said. "I chose UCF over Indiana and many other schools because I felt that I fit in perfectly with the team. It was also much closer to home, which was good, because I can always go home and visit my friends and family," he said.
