ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF sophomore guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) will begin a busy stretch of international play Wednesday when competition begins at the World Juniors Basketball Tournament in Douai, France. Sosa, and his teammates on the Puerto Rico U19 National Team, will open the event against the United States.

The four-day tournament features six squads, including Canada and Lithuania. After competing at the event, Sosa's team will travel to Auckland, New Zealand, for the FIBA U19 World Championship (July 2-12).

One of the top shooters in Conference USA, Sosa averaged 8.2 points in 19.7 minutes per contest as a freshman at UCF this past season. He started eight contests and connected on 57 3-pointers. The shooting guard shot 45.2 percent from deep.

Last summer, Sosa helped Puerto Rico qualify for the world championship, averaging 13.8 points at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Argentina.

Sosa is not the lone NCAA student-athlete on Puerto Rico's roster. Rutgers guards Mike Rosario, a BIG EAST All-Rookie Team selection in 2008-09, is also playing with the team this summer, as is Jio Fontan of Fordham and Kevin Young of Loyola Marymount.

Season-ticket deposits for the 2009-10 UCF men's basketball campaign are currently being accepted. For more information, visit UCFAthletics.com or call (407) UCF-1000.
