ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Since arriving on the UCF campus in 2007, Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) has excelled in two important areas - on the court and in the classroom. As a sophomore he led the Knights with a 15-6 singles mark.
His play was good enough to earn him a spot on the All-Conference USA Second Team. A political science major, his work in the classroom was equally impressive. Schwartz was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Schwartz recently took time to share his thoughts on why he decided to attend UCF.
"I chose UCF because I liked the campus and the location. I also got along with the players and coaches," he said. "My favorite part of UCF is the environment and there are always fun things to do."
He selected the Knights over Clemson. Schwartz says that he does not regret the decision.
"UCF is an up-and-coming school. I am glad that I became a part of it."
