Orlando, FL (www.UCFAthletics.com) - An exciting new tradition begins in 2009, as the UCF Countdown To Kickoff Luncheon, presented by Bright House Networks, will be held for the first time on the beautiful UCF campus at the UCF Arena.
The luncheon will feature Head Coach George O'Leary and the entire 2009 UCF football team, along with the Marching Knights, UCF cheerleaders, KnightMoves and Knightro. They will be joined in the program by UCF President John C. Hitt, UCF Director of Athletics Keith Tribble, Bright House Networks Central Florida President Chris Fenger and others.
Proceeds from the event, which is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will benefit scholarships for student-athletes. Registration opens at 11 a.m.
"I can't think of a better way to kick off the 2009 season than by bringing this community event on campus," O'Leary said. "Our fans and community supporters are so important to our success, and I look forward to talking about the season and introducing our talented student-athletes. It will be a great lunch."
Tables of eight for the UCF Countdown To Kickoff Luncheon can be purchased for $500 and individual tickets may also be purchased for $50. Table purchases will include up to two (2) players and/or coaches. Parking will be FREE in Garage D. Please call UCF at (407) 823-3901 to make your table reservation.
