OWINGS MILLS, Md. (UCFAthletics.com) - With pars on her final six holes Friday afternoon, UCF senior Stephanie Connelly shot a four-over par 76 to finish in a tie for 11th at the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships, being held at the par-72, 6,443-yard Caves Valley Golf Course in Owings Mills, Md. The performance helped Connelly secure a spot on the AGCA All-East Region team.
The Pasadena, Calif., native, who started the four-day championship with an even-par round of 72 on Tuesday, finished her 72 holes at nine-over par 297 (72-74-75-76). Purdue's Maria Hernandez was one-over par for the tournament to claim individual medalist honors.
Connelly birdied the par-three eighth hole Friday to card a two-over 38 on the front nine. After a couple of early bogeys on the back side, Connelly was steady down the stretch with six-straight pars to finish her round.
Over the course of the final four rounds of her collegiate career, Connelly was able to register 11 birdies, including playing the par fives at three-under par.
