Connelly Tied for Sixth at NCAA Championship

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (UCFAthletics.com) - After two rounds of play at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship, UCF senior Stephanie Connelly (Pasadena, Md.) is tied for sixth out of 126 participants at the Caves Valley Golf Club. During Wednesday's second round, she carded a 2-over 74.

Connelly is tied with three other golfers at 2-over 146 and is five shots behind tournament leader Maria Jose Uribe (141, -3) of UCLA. At the four-round event, Connelly is competing as an individual.

She entered the second round tied for third at even-par 72. On Wednesday, she totaled three birdies and had five bogeys.

Southern Cal's Jennifer Song sits in fifth at 1-over 145. Nannette Hill of Wake Forest, Lisa McCloskey of Pepperdine and Stephanie Sherlock of Denver are tied for second at 143 (-1).

Connelly will begin the third round Thursday at 8:20 a.m. She will tee off from the first hole along with Alice Kim of UC-Davis and Cindy LaCrosse of Louisville.

Connelly qualified for this week's championship by placing second at the NCAA East Regional in Gainesville on May 9. She shot a career-best 68 in the third round to finish at even-par 210.
