ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Fans of the Knights can look back on the 2008-09 campaign by watching the season finale of UCF SportsKnight on Tuesday at noon on UCF TV and 3:30 p.m. on SunSports. This week's edition includes highlights from the UCF men's golf team's impressive wire-to-wire win at the NCAA Southeast Regional, a salute to the seniors participating this spring and the plays of the year.
Each week, viewers are taken inside the past week in UCF athletics by UCF alum Jeff Sharon during the 30-minute program. Throughout the week, UCF TV, Bright House Sports Network and FOX College Sports Atlantic air replays of the show.
Last week, the men's golf team participated in the NCAA Southeast Regional, a three-day event hosted by UCF and the Central Florida Sports Commission at the RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla. The Knights started strong taking the lead after the first day. UCF claimed the regional title at 34-under (818), 11 strokes over No. 1 Georgia, Arizona and South Carolina.
The Knights advanced to the NCAA Championship, which will be held in Toledo, Ohio, May 26-30. Individually, redshirt freshman Brad Schnieder (Valrico, Fla.) finished second at 13-under 200, two strokes behind Tarquin McManus of Arizona, and freshman Blayne Barber (Lake City, Fla.) carded a course and school record 62 in the final round en route to a third-place finish at 11-under 202.
The spring senior tribute highlight shows the amazing plays that the student-athletes have made during their final season with the Knights. Million Year Echo and its track "Turn to Me" will be featured during the show's segment in remembering the seniors. Over the course of the 2008-09 season, the Knights have made many remarkable plays and memorable moments. Sharon will countdown the top-10 moments of the year.
"Alive" by Remove Before Flight is the featured track on this month's edition of the SportsKnight Highlight looking back at the best plays in the past month. Customers with Bright House digital cable can catch the program at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 4 p.m. on Thursday on Bright House Sports Network (channel 47).
