ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the second-consecutive season, a member of the UCF men's tennis team was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team. Sophomore Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) picked up the end of the year award for the Knights, recording a 15-6 mark during the dual-match season.
In his second season at UCF, Schwartz improved on a solid freshman campaign in which he collected nine victories for the Knights.
Anchoring the third and fourth spot for most of this season, Schwartz went 9-6 at No. 3, and a perfect 5-0 at No. 4.
The Pensacola native also collected key victories for the Knights throughout the season. At No. 13 Tulsa in the first match of the season, Schwartz collected the Knights' lone point, and at the C-USA Shootout in Greenville, N.C., he went 2-1 with wins over UAB and ECU.
Schwartz also contributed in doubles for the Knights, recording a 7-1 record with partner Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden), including a 5-1 record at the top spot. At the C-USA Shootout, the duo went 3-0 for the Knights and also sealed the doubles point for the Black and Gold against SMU in the C-USA Championship.
