ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On Saturday, UCF Athletics and the College of Education will host a reception following the funeral services for Eugene "Torchy" Clark. The reception will be held from noon-1:30 p.m. inside the Torchy Clark Gymnasium in the Education Building on campus.
Clark, who began the UCF men's basketball program in 1969, and then spent 14 campaigns as the Knights' head coach, passed away Wednesday at age 80. A member of the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame, Clark built UCF into a national power at the Division II level. After concluding his coaching career, he served as an instructor in the College of Education for many years.
A viewing for Clark will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Borromeo Catholic Church, which is located on Edgewater Drive in Orlando. The funeral is set for 9 a.m. Saturday at the same church.
Those attending the reception can park in Garage H, which is located next to the Education Building.
