ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF baseball head coach Terry Rooney put his uniform back on Wednesday but it was not for an upcoming Knights' game. The first-year leader of the program participated in WKMG Local-6's Project Pressure and shot a Public Service Announcement on UCF's field to help spread awareness of high blood pressure.

The PSA will air approximately five times on Local-6 during news broadcasts in early-mid May. It will be a one-minute segment called "Coaches Corner," and focus on getting attention of men in the community as coaches are put together with a physician or a cardiologist to explain why it is so important people get their BP screened and begin lifestyle changes to get their numbers in check.

Left untreated, high blood pressure in men can lead to stroke and heart disease - the number on killer of American men.

In all, community leaders have challenged one million people to have their BP checked over a one-year period.

And on May 23, Shane Kelly Park in Oviedo will host the Get Healthy Florida Fest from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Musical acts include Mandisa, Orleans and Jake Owen and admission is free. For more information visit GetHealthyFest.com.
