ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Getting two first-half touchdowns from Brynn Harvey (Largo, Fla.), the White (offensive) team jumped out a considerable halftime lead and held off a rally to defeat the Gold (defensive) team 77-61 in the UCF football spring game Saturday afternoon at Bright House Networks Stadium.

Played in front of over 5,500 Knight fans, the game consisted of two 30-minute halves with the UCF offensive units competing against the defense with a modified scoring system.

On the strength of a pair of touchdowns from Harvey, the offense went into halftime with a 52-30 lead. On the white's third drive, Rob Calabrese (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) found Harvey out of the backfield for a 25-yard touchdown. Calabrese finished the afternoon 7-of-13 for 65 yards and the touchdown.

The defense got a red zone interception from Lyle Dankenbring (Stuart, Fla.) on the game's fifth possession. Dankenbring picked off a pass on third-and-five from the 15 and returned it 29 yards.

On a fourth-and-one late in the half, Harvey exploded past the line of scrimmage and sprinted into the end zone for his second touchdown of the period. Harvey had nine carries in the game for 51 yards.

The defense closed to three points, 56-53, early in the second half before the offense put the game away with a 39-yard touchdown strike from Andy Slowik (Bradenton, Fla.) to J.T. McArthur (Laurens, S.C.).

Offensively for the White team, six quarterbacks combined to go 17-for-36 for 204 yards and the pair of touchdowns. Led by Harvey, the squad rushed for 155 yards.

Jarvis Geathers (Andrews, S.C.) led an 11-sack performance from the defense with three while Torrell Troup (Conyers, Ga.), T.J. Harnden (Tallahassee, Fla.) and Bruce Miller (Canton, Ga.) each registered two sacks apiece. Geathers also led the squad with eight tackles while walk-on Jake Owen and Darius Nall (Douglasville, Ga.) each added six.
