UCF Lineups and Schedule in PDF Format
ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After earning a sweep over Duke at its inaugural regatta at the UCF Intercollegiate Rowing Center last weekend, the UCF rowing team is back in action Saturday when it travels to Charlottesville, Va., to compete against No. 13 Virginia and No. 16 Clemson at the Virginia Invitational on Lake Monticello.
The regatta, set up in a double-dual format, will pit the Knights against the Tigers in the morning, beginning at 9:20 a.m., and the Cavaliers in the afternoon, starting at Noon.
UCF's second varsity four boat of Stephanie Galo, Monica Larkin, Katherine Wieland, Sheilah Abadines and Christine Rubino will kick-off the event for the Knights, facing Clemson at 9:20 a.m., before the Black and Gold's undefeated novice eight crew hits the water at 9:30 a.m. The second varsity eight will shove-off at 9:50 a.m., with the varsity four and varsity eight boats rounding out the first-half of competition at 10:10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., respectively.
After a short intermission, the Knights open the second-half of the regatta at Noon against host Virginia with the novice eight boat. The second varsity four crew follows shortly after at 12:10 p.m., before the second varsity eight race gets underway at 12:40 p.m. The varsity four squad races at 1 p.m., while the varsity eight faces the 13th-ranked Cavaliers in the finale at 1:20 p.m.
Last season, UCF picked up seven wins at the Virginia Invitational in races against Oregon State, Wisconsin, Virginia, Columbia and Michigan State.
