ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The wait is finally over. Saturday marks a milestone day for the UCF women's rowing team, as it will host Duke in its inaugural regatta at the newly completed, state-of-the-art UCF Intercollegiate Rowing Center. The event, which is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m. on Lake Pickett, is the only home regatta for the Knights this season.

Fans eager to catch a glimpse of the Black and Gold in action are invited to attend the event free of charge and will also be able to enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and refreshments while cheering on the Knights.

UCF's novice eight boat enters Saturday's event against Duke undefeated, having claimed victories over Rollins and Villanova at the Metro Cup, and Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas State and Texas at the Longhorn Invitational.

Also boasting impressive victories in 2009 have been UCF's second varsity eight and first varsity four crews, as they both picked up three-straight wins over Iowa, Kansas State and Texas in their only regatta of the season at the Longhorn Invitational.

All of UCF's squads look to give the fans something to cheer about when they entertain the Blue Devils in their only home event at their new boathouse. One of the finest facilities in the nation, the UCF Intercollegiate Rowing Center, designed by HOK Architects, sits on the south shoreline of Lake Pickett, just east of the UCF campus. It features a 12,000-square-foot boathouse with six individual boat bays for the team's rowing shells. The facility also includes a boathouse and a locker room, as well as a 6,000-square-foot clubhouse that has plenty of room for erg training, meeting rooms and coaches' offices.
