UCF SportsKnight Set to Air Tuesday

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Fans of the Knights looking for in depth coverage of UCF should watch UCF SportsKnight on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. on UCF TV and 3:30 p.m. on SunSports. In this week's edition, women's basketball coach Joi Williams discusses her team's successful season and previews the upcoming Conference USA Championship that begins Thursday. Also, the program takes a look at Simon Ward of the men's golf team who has helped the Knights earn a No. 19 national ranking.

Each week, viewers are taken inside the past week in UCF athletics by graduate Jeff Sharon during the 30-minute program. Throughout the week, UCF TV, Bright House Sports Network and FOX Sports Atlantic air replays of the show.

This week's SportsKnight Spotlight features Ward and the impressive performances of the men's golf team to begin the season. Ward earned C-USA Golfer of the Week of Feb. 18, after tying for first at the SunTrust Gator Invitational, where he lost in a playoff. At the Rio Pinar Invitational hosted by UCF, Ward tied for 11th overall by shooting one-over par in the two-day tournament helping the Knights win the title.

On Sunday, the women's basketball team finished the regular season in a four-way tie for second in C-USA with an 11-5 record. The Knights landed the fifth seed at the tournament hosted by Tulane in New Orleans and will play Rice on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Coach Williams talks with Sharon about the impressive turnaround for her young team and provides insight into the conference championship.

Highlights from the past week in UCF Athletics will be shown on the program including the men's golf team's impressive first-place finish at the Rio Pinar Invitational. The softball team played seven games in the course of the week, going 6-1, and hosted the UCF Invitational that brought eight teams from around the country to Orlando for the weekend. The women's tennis team also swept Eastern Michigan on Feb. 27.

With the month coming to a close, the SportsKnights Highlight provides a look back at the remarkable plays that UCF student-athletes made in February. The plays of the week will also be shown on this week's episode. Further information on the Knights is provided to the viewers through the news and notes section, which includes upcoming events.
