Women's Tennis Welcomes Louisiana-Lafayette Friday

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After falling just short against No. 65 USF on March 25, the UCF women's tennis team returns home to host Louisiana-Lafayette at 10 a.m. Friday. The Knights holding an 8-8 record play their home matches at the UCF Tennis Complex where admission is free.

Against USF, senior Elvira Serrot (Madrid, Spain), junior Katie Orletsky (Titusville, Fla.) and freshman Andrea Yacaman (Cartegena, Columbia) picked up singles victories in a 4-3 defeat. UCF came up just short as the Bulls were able to win the decisive third set of the final singles match.

Louisiana-Lafayette brings an 8-7 record into its match against the Knights. The Ragin' Cajuns have picked up six wins in their last seven tilts with victories over McNeese State, Louisiana-Monroe, Northwestern State, Illinois State, Arkansas State and Arkansas-Little Rock. For the year, Louisiana-Lafayette is a combined 36-52 in singles play and 19-25 in doubles.

All-time, the Ragin' Cajuns have a 2-0 lead against the Knights. The last meeting between the two schools was in the 1991-92 season at the Sun Belt Tournament where Louisiana-Lafayette won 5-0.

The Knights will host Jacksonville on April 1 at the UCF Tennis Complex. The first serve for the Knights final home match of the season is scheduled for 3 p.m.
