ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Head coach Todd Dagenais and staff are welcoming local volleyball coaches to attend their 2009 Central Florida Volleyball Coaches Clinic on Wednesday at The Venue at UCF. The clinic, which is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m., is open to the first 20 coaches to register.
Participants in the clinic will have the opportunity to shadow Dagenais during UCF's practice on Wednesday, while he explains skill progressions, as well as drill progressions, and walks you through every step of the practice.
Coaches will learn the key words Dagenais uses to train the six primary skills in volleyball, while also learning how to best maximize your players during practice and how to cultivate a productive gym culture where everyone is always involved in every drill.
For programs that have a limited coaching staff, Dagenais will teach drills that take the coach out of the equation so you can be free to coach your players.
Following the Knights' workout, Dagenais will bring coaches into the UCF film room to explain how he developed individual practice plans for each player and how planning practice changes as UCF goes through different phases of the year.
At the end of the day, Dagenais and his staff will answer numerous questions regarding every aspect of coaching volleyball. Some questions that will be answered are as follows:

? Recruiting
? Strength and conditioning
? Sports psychology
? Team building
? Match preparation
? Scouting
? Film breakdown
? How to deal with difficult coaching situations
? How to deal with parents.
The Knights are coming off of their most successful season in five years in 2008, where they posted a 15-17 overall record, its best mark since 2003, and matched its best Conference USA record, going 6-10 in the fifth-toughest volleyball conference in the nation.
