AUSTIN, Texas - Senior Mayule Tomimbang (Kissimmee, Fla.) topped her Knight teammates both on Sunday and for the three-round tournament as the UCF women's golf team competed at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational this weekend at the 6,324-yard par-72 University of Texas Golf Club in Austin.
As a team, the Knights placed 17th overall, firing a 320 on Sunday to finish the 54-hole event with a team score of 950. No. 13 Purdue was the champion with a final tally of 872.
Tomimbang shot a 77 on Sunday to close the three days of competition. It was UCF's best round of the day and gave her a team-best 232 for the weekend after firing consistent rounds of 76, 79 and 77.
Sophomore Jessy Tang (Miami, Fla.), UCF's leader through each of the first two rounds, placed second amongst the Knights with a 234. Junior Victoria Tomko (Lontzen, Belgium) closed the tournament with a 79 on Sunday to post a 240 overall. Sophomore Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) shot a 244 while freshman Elisa Aoki (Bradenton, Fla.) rounded out the Knight golfers with her 258.
UCF will return to action April 3-5 when the Knights head west to Tempe, Ariz. for the Ping ASU Invitational.
