ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After sweeping last weekend's tilts with No. 59 Florida Atlantic and Georgia State, the UCF men's tennis team returns to action Friday afternoon when it faces off with No. 47 Radford (8-2). First serve is set for 2 p.m., and admission is free into the UCF Tennis Complex.
On Monday, the Knights (7-5) entered the ITA national rankings at No. 68 after their two victories over the weekend.
In both matches, the Knights received wins from the 2-5 spots in their lineup. Junior Marc Rocafort (Barcelona, Spain) collected his first two triumphs of the year at the second position when he defeated FAU's Daniel Vardag, 6-3, 6-0, and Georgia State's Jackson Moore, 6-0, 6-2.
Sophomore Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) continued his assault on opponents when he took down FAU's Lawrence Harradine and GSU's Lucas Thomaz. The two victories give the Pensacola native a team-best 10 wins on the year, with both coming at the No. 3 spot.
Junior Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) and freshman Eugene Dolgovykh (Palm Coast, Fla.) were also quick winners for the home team.
Radford rolls into Orlando winners in six of its last seven contests. The Highlanders started their three-match Florida stretch with a 4-1 loss to South Florida on Tuesday, but bounced back Wednesday to knock off St. John's, 7-0.
After the contest with the Highlanders, the Knights welcome in-state foe Miami to Orlando Sunday with the matching slated for 11 a.m.
