ORLANDO, Fla. - The 2009 UCF football schedule is set and there is no better way to catch UCF in action than through the Golden Knights Club, or, go to UCFAthletics.com to view other special season ticket plans. The Knights will play seven home games at Bright House Networks Stadium in 2009, highlighted by a visit from the five-time National Champion Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, Oct. 17.
UCF will play host to Samford (Sept. 5), Buffalo (Sept. 19), Memphis (Oct. 3), Miami (Oct. 17), Marshall (Sun. Nov. 1), Houston (Nov. 14) and Tulane (Nov. 21). The Knights will travel to face Southern Miss (Sept. 12), East Carolina (Sept. 26), Rice (Oct. 24), Texas (Nov. 7) and UAB (Nov. 28).
The full 2009 schedule was announced on Wednesday by the Conference USA office and those seven home games are evenly distributed with two in September, two in October and three in November as, unlike in 2008, the 2009 Knights will never go more than 15 days between home games.
Amongst other highlights, is a primetime nationally-televised game against Marshall on Sunday night, Nov. 1, at Bright House Networks Stadium. UCF will face defending conference champions in consecutive weeks as the Knights will play host to the 2008 Mid-American Conference Champion Buffalo Bulls on Sept. 19 and then travel to Greenville, N.C. to face 2008 Conference USA Champion East Carolina on Sept. 26.
The Knights will play eight games against teams which played in bowl games a year ago, including defending Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Champion Texas. Additionally, UCF's lone bye-week is centrally located in the schedule on Oct. 10, providing a great mid-season break.
UCF Athletics announced in February that it was holding ticket prices and Golden Knights Club gift requirements at the 2008 levels for all current season ticket holders. Additionally, season tickets to UCF's seven home games can still be purchased at new entry prices of $150 and $175. Season ticket renewal forms have already been sent and UCF Athletics encourages all season ticket holders to get their renewals in early.
