Orlando, FL (www.UCFAthletics.com) - UCF Athletics would like to thank former football letterwinner and graduate Mike Walker, a standout for the Jacksonville Jaguars, for returning to campus Wednesday night and taking part in a UCF basketball game pre-event autograph signing. He was also recognized mid-court to the applause of thousands at halftime of the Knights' game with Rice yesterday evening.
"Mike was a class act for four years while at UCF, and it appears he has only elevated from that," said Joe Hornstein, UCF Associate Director of Athletics. "I was so pleased to see a few hundred UCF sports fans get the chance to see Mike and take home a nice momento of the four great years he gave us not long ago."
Walker concluded his UCF career in 2006. He totaled a school record 90 receptions as a senior, finishing with 1,178 yards. An Orlando native, Walker earned All-C-USA First Team accolades after the year.
He was selected by Jacksonville in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. In 2008, Walker totaled 16 receptions for 217 yards. Against Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh in October, he had six catches for 107 yards.
