ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team's final two regular season home games, on Thursday night against Memphis and on Sunday afternoon against UAB, will both be televised nationally. The games will mark the first times the program has had a home nationally televised game since moving into its new home, UCF Arena, in 2007-08.
Thursday's contest against Memphis, which tips off at 7:07 p.m., will run live locally on Bright House Sports Network and will be shown nationally on tape delay on both CSS and CBS College Sports with Paul Crane handling the play-by-play duties and Robin Muller serving as the color analyst. CSS will have the coverage beginning at 9 p.m. while CBS College Sports will air the game at 10 p.m.
Sunday afternoon's regular-season finale, slated for 3 p.m. against UAB, will be broadcast to a national audience on CBS College Sports. The play-by-play announcer will be Ben Holden and Tammy Blackburn will work as the color analyst.
CBS College Sports Network is channel 106 on Bright House Networks in the Orlando area, as well as channel 613 on DirecTV and channel 152 on Dish Network/Echostar. CSS is on channel 29 on Comcast in the Orlando area.
Bright House Sports Network is a 24-hour local sports network available in central Florida on Bright House Networks digital cable channel 47.
UCF will be looking to end a three-game slide on when they host Memphis. Getting 34 points and 20 rebounds from sophomore Emma Cannon (Rochester, N.Y.), the Knights defeated Memphis 85-67 on the road on Jan. 8.
Three days later, the Knights close out the regular season on Sunday afternoon, with the tip-off for the game against UAB slated for 3 p.m. UCF rallied from a two-point halftime deficit to defeat the Blazers 74-67 in Birmingham on Jan. 10. Sophomore Chelsie Wiley (Riviera Beach, Fla.) scored 21 in the win for the Knights.
The UCF women's basketball program has announced an opportunity for Knights fans to come out and support the team in its final two home games with a 2 for $2 promotion. Fans can buy tickets for both pivotal Conference USA games for just two dollars total.
Head coach Joi Williams has her team sitting at 9-5 in C-USA play and just one game behind a quartet of teams tied for first at 10-4. The Knights' success on their home court has been a key reason for the team's school-record nine C-USA wins. At UCF Arena in league play, the squad has a perfect 6-0 record with an average margin of victory of over 10 points per game.
