ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF (11-15, 9-4 C-USA) concludes its four-game road trip on Saturday at 2 p.m. eastern time with its first meeting of the season with Tulane (15-12, 7-6 C-USA). The Knights will look to close out the away portion of their C-USA schedule with a 4-4 record before heading back for two more games at UCF Arena.
UCF finds itself in a tight race for the conference championship and currently sits one game behind league-leading Southern Miss in a four-game tie for second place.
Knights' fans can listen to a live audio internet broadcast of the game beginning at approximately 1:40 p.m. eastern time. The broadcast can be accessed free of charge through Stretch Audio Internet at http://ucfathletics.cstv.com/multimedia/ucf-wbb-stretch-sched.html.
On Thursday, UCF missed an opportunity to join Southern Miss atop the conference standings with a 61-49 loss at UTEP. The Knights got 15 points and 17 rebounds from sophomore Emma Cannon (Rochester, N.Y.), but shot just 27.5 percent and lost a one-point halftime lead.
Tulane meanwhile had a strong effort Thursday in a 77-60 victory over Southern Miss. The Green Wave got 31 points from sophomore Brittany Lindsey in the game and pulled away from the Golden Eagles with a strong second half. The Green Wave bounced back from a disappointing loss at Rice in their last outing.
While it will be senior day as Tulane plays its last regular-season home game, the team, along with the rest of C-USA, will return to Fogelman Arena in early March for the Conference USA Tournament.
KNIGHTS NOTES
? INSIDE THE SERIES: UCF leads the all-time series with Tulane 4-3, including a 2-2 record since the Knights joined C-USA. In the teams' meeting last season, UCF won 77-71 in Orlando as six different players scored in double figures.
? RECORD AND COUNTING: With its 75-67 win over Marshall on Jan. 31, UCF notched its sixth C-USA win of the season, the most victories in league play since joining the conference in 2005-06. The Knights have added to the record with three wins since and are just two C-USA wins of matching the total the program had in its first three seasons combined.
? CANNON ON FIRE: Cannon has been tremendous of late. She has recorded a double-double in eight of the last eight games and has scored at least 14 points in each of those contests. Cannon is averaging 15.4 points and 12.9 rebounds and is also 35-for-42 from the free-throw line over that stretch.
? HOME SWEET HOME: The Knights are now a perfect 6-0 at UCF Arena in Conference USA play. The six-straight home victories mark the longest winning streak in the team's new home and the longest home streak for the program since the 2003-04 team won 10 in a row. During the streak, UCF is outscoring opponents by over 10 points a game and has a turnover margin of plus-5.5.
? AMONG THE NATION'S BEST: Cannon now leads the conference and is ninth nationally in rebounding. She is also 10th in offensive rebounds per game. Chelsie Wiley (Riviera Beach, Fla.) is currently sixth in the country in three-point percentage, hitting 45.7 percent from long range.
? DAY-BY-DAY: Since beginning league play, UCF is 4-0 on Saturdays. The loss at UTEP was the team's first on a Thursday in conference play. The Knights are 0-3 on Sundays in C-USA action.
