ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Former UCF football standout Mike Walker will be in attendance at the UCF men's basketball game versus Rice on Wednesday, and the Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver will meet and greet fans prior to the contest. Walker will sign autographs from 6-7 p.m. inside the UCF Arena lobby. The first 500 fans at the arena will receive a complimentary Walker poster.
Tip-off for the Conference USA basketball contest is slated for 7 p.m. Tickets for the game are available through Ticketmaster by calling (407) 839-3900 or by visiting UCFAthletics.com.
Walker concluded his UCF career in 2006. He totaled a school record 90 receptions as a senior, finishing with 1,178 yards. An Orlando native, Walker earned All-C-USA First Team accolades after the year.
He was selected by Jacksonville in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. In 2008, Walker totaled 16 receptions for 217 yards. Against Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh in October, he had six catches for 107 yards.
On Wednesday, he will also be honored during halftime of the basketball game.
Walker's appearance coincides with the recent launch of UCF's 2009 football season ticket plans. The Knights are scheduled to play seven contests, including a tilt with in-state foe Miami, at Bright House Networks Stadium.
