ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) has been on the radar of opposing players and coaches all season. Taylor, who ranks sixth in the country in scoring at 23.9 points per game, is now starting to draw attention from members of the national media.
On Monday, ESPN.com senior writer Andy Katz noted how Taylor has excelled for the Knights (15-6, 5-2 Conference USA), who have won five-consecutive contests. Katz wrote that Taylor is a potential National Basketball Association Draft pick.
Taylor has led UCF in scoring in 20 of the team's 21 contests in 2008-09. He recorded a game-high 28 points Saturday in the team's overtime win at Tulane. He is averaging 24.3 points in league play.
UCF will be seeking its sixth-straight victory Wednesday when the Knights host Houston. Tip-off at the UCF Arena is set for 7 p.m.
The game is being billed as a Whiteout. UCF fans are encouraged to wear white to the arena to support the Knights. Tickets for the contest are available via Ticketmaster. All UCF students are admitted free with a valid school ID, and the first 4,000 students will receive a limited edition Knightmare t-shirt.
