UCF Hosts UNF and Bethune Cookman in a Pair of Matches Saturday

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team finishes its three-match homestand Saturday when the Knights play a pair of matches against the of North Florida and Bethune-Cookman University . The first match begins at 9 a.m. at the UCF Tennis Complex against the Ospreys (2-0). The Knights then match up with Bethune-Cookman (0-2) at 2 p.m.

The Knights (1-1) will be looking to collect their second-consecutive victory after they defeated Florida Gulf Coast University last week, 6-1. The win gave the team its first victory of the dual-match season.

Admission to all tennis matches at the UCF Tennis Complex is free.

Sophomore Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) improved to 2-0 in singles this season with his victory over FGCU's Edson Lima, 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot. Schwartz and Danny Colon (Jacksonville, Fla.) teamed up to take down Lima and Gonzalo Rafael De Villa, 8-4.

The Knights were victorious in 5-of-6 singles matches, with wins coming from senior Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla.), junior Tarek Ben Soltane (Tunis, Tunisia), freshman Eugene Dolgovykh (Palm Coast, Fla.), Schwartz and Colon.

UNF arrives on campus coming off of a home win against Georgia State, 4-3. At the No. 1 position, junior Federico Levi knocked off No. 69 Nejc Podkrajsek, 6-4, 6-3, and gave the Osprey the match-winning point. Levi is 2-0 in singles on the season, and 3-1 at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles.

Bethune-Cookman comes into the match losing its two first contests of the year to UNF (7-0), and No. 65 Stetson (7-0).

After the doubleheader Saturday, the Knights travel to Gainesville to take on the No. 10 Gators Thursday, Feb. 5.
