ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The countdown to the 2009 UCF softball season has officially begun. With the squad's season-opening doubleheader against Texas Tech and defending national champion Arizona State only 10 days away, fans eager to get a sneak preview at this year's Knights can now watch the 2009 UCF Softball Preview with Renee Luers-Gillispie free of charge beginning Tuesday. Hosted by UCF radio personality Scott Adams, the online video discussion can be viewed through Knights All-Access, exclusively on UCFAthletics.com.
Gillispie and Adams preview UCF's tough 2009 schedule in which it will face five teams ranked in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll, including No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Arizona State, the Knights' intricate blend of veterans and newcomers, her new coaching staff and much more in the 10-minute program.
Throughout the 2009 season, Gillispie and Adams will return every week to discuss the week that was and what is ahead for the team. The skipper will also answer questions from fans at the conclusion of each broadcast. The Knights open the 2009 season Feb. 6-8 at the ASU Kajikawa Classic, before hosting their home opener on Feb. 11 against in-state rival North Florida at 3 p.m.
