ORLANDO, Fla. - The first Wednesday in February is one of the most crucial days of the entire college football season. That day, February 4 this year, is National Signing Day, the first day of the period when high school students across America sign their National Letters of Intent to play college football. The UCF coaching staff has spent much of the past year recruiting the finest student-athletes and, in two weeks, the Knights will realize the fruits of this hard labor. UCFAthletics.com will have several updates for fans throughout the pivotal day, but bronze-level and above Golden Knights Club donors will get even more insight than most.
In what has grown into a popular annual event, UCF head coach George O'Leary and his staff will be on hand as the GKC hosts the UCF Football Signing Party on the evening of Signing Day and provide donors with a chance to hear about the newest members of the Knights football family directly from those who brought them to Orlando. The event, as usual, will feature a variety of food and drinks from several local businesses as well as both a silent and live auction of Knights football items, vacation packages and more, all to benefit the Golden Knights Club and, through it, UCF student-athletes.
The event begins at 5:00 p.m. at The Venue at UCF Arena. Fans in attendance will also receive a free ticket for that night's men's basketball game against Houston at 7:00 p.m. and the opportunity to upgrade to a club seat for just $20. Bronze level ($1,000) and above donors from the 2008 season who received invitations are encouraged to RSVP to the GKC either by emailing goldenknightsclub@athletics.ucf.edu or by calling (407) 882-1289. UCF fans interested in upgrading their gift to become a bronze-level donor should also contact the GKC.
