FORT MYERS, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's tennis team completed its trip to the Florida Gulf Coast/Johan Kriek Classic on Monday. The Knights played four singles matches vs. Akron, with senior Kenza Belbacha and junior Katie Orletsky both claiming victories.
In all, the Knights played five different schools in the event, with two of those programs ranked in the top 45. UCF finished with a 10-10 singles record and a 6-2 mark in doubles play.
Sophomore Jenny Frisell led the way with a 2-0 record on the singles courts and teamed with freshman Alexis Rodriguez for a 2-1 showing in doubles. Belbacha also went 4-1 over the weekend, going 3-1 in singles and 1-0 in doubles play.
The Black and Gold will open its dual-match season Thursday with a 2 p.m. home contest with Florida A&M. Admission to the UCF Tennis Complex is free.
