LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF will be on stage three different times during Sunday's College Cheerleading and Dance National Championships, as the Knights wrapped up a successful Saturday at Disney's Wide World of Sports and Hollywood Studios.
KnightMoves reached the finals of the hip-hop and dance events after stellar routines in the semis. They will be back on stage Sunday with the hip-hop finals at 12:40 p.m. (UCF sits in eighth place) and the dance finals at 4:50 p.m. (the Knights are in eighth) at the Milk House at the Wide World of Sports.
UCF's cheerleaders were very impressive in their rehearsal Saturday, performing as one of just eight teams in the country that did not have to face the judges in the semifinals. The Knights received an automatic bid into the finals thanks to their result of a 90-second video entry.
Meanwhile, UCF submitted another video that demonstrated crowd response to the cheerleaders at various sporting events that counts for 15 percent of the team's final score. The Black and Gold was one of 19 schools to receive a perfect rating on the tape.
The finals in the Division IA cheer begin Sunday at 5:45 p.m. with UCF performing ninth.
