Dec. 23, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF fans can watch this week's UCF SportsKnight on Tuesday at 5 p.m. on Sun Sports. This week's show features highlights from the women's basketball UCF Holiday Classic and the men's basketball game against Florida in Jacksonville and home contest against Valparaiso.

UCF graduate Jeff Sharon hosts each 30-minute episode of UCF SportsKnight, taking viewers inside the past week of UCF Athletics. The program also airs on UCF TV several times each week.

Both basketball teams played contests over the weekend. The men's squad traveled to Jacksonville, losing a neutral court matchup against the Gators before rebounding at home on Monday with a 85-60 win against Valparaiso. This past weekend, the women hosted the UCF Holiday Classic. Wake Forest and Mississippi were the two additional teams that competed in the tournament.

On Tuesday's episode, women's head coach Joi Williams will talk about the tough road stretch that her team faced from late November through early December. The Knights played six road games in a 28 day stretch, including traveling to the Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam.

This week's SportsKnight Spotlight is on public address announcer Eric Kohler. The UCF graduate has become a well known voice among Knights' fans. On Dec. 20, Kohler worked his first bowl game as the external public address announcer for the MagicJack St. Peterburg Bowl.

Highlights from the past week in UCF Athletics are shown each week, including the plays of the week. A news and notes section presents viewers with additional information on the Knights.

Million Year Echo, with their song "Hear Me," is the local artist featured on this week's edition. More information about the band can be found by visiting their website at myspace.com/millionyearecho.
