UCF Fastbreak - Dec. 10

Dec. 10, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Three days after UCF posted an impressive victory over cross-state foe USF, a future Knight helped his high school squad to a big win. On Tuesday evening, Keith Clanton led Orlando Christian Prep to a win over undefeated Oldsmar Christian.

Clanton, who signed a National Letter of Intent with UCF in November, totaled 24 points, 12 rebounds in seven blocks in the victory. The 6-foot-8 Clanton will suit up for the Knights next season.

Oldsmar Christian of south Florida entered the game 4-0. The independent program defeated nationally-ranked Montverde Academy last week.

As a junior last season, Clanton was named the Orlando Sentinel Player of the Year after leading Orlando Christian Prep to a 27-2 mark and a state title. The MVP of the state tournament, he averaged 21.0 points, 13.9 rebounds and 3.1 blocks during the season. This past summer, he was named MVP at the AAU 17-and-under national championship.

UCF will return to action for the first time following the win over USF this Friday, hosting Florida Tech. Tip-off at the UCF Arena is set for 7 p.m.
