ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The fourth and final fall tournament is on tap for the UCF women's tennis team when it travels to the Miami Fall Invitational this weekend. The three-day event opens up Friday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
UCF will be one of four state schools competing, joining Florida International, Florida State and host Miami. The format features an individual round-robin draw with players participating at different positions in both singles and doubles.
Singles action kicks off play Friday at 9 a.m. with the last scheduled matches set for 1 p.m. Doubles will get going on Saturday at 10 a.m.
This fall has been a perfect opportunity for three UCF freshmen to get a taste of the Division I level. Freshman Andrea Yacaman leads the Knights with seven singles victories while her two classmates, Alexis Rodriguez and Christy Core, are tied for second with four. Over in doubles, the duos of Core and senior Kenza Belbacha along with Yacaman and senior Elvira Serrot both have four wins this season.
After the fall comes to a close, the Knights will be back in action at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament Jan. 16-18.
