UCF Fastbreak - Nov. 3

Nov. 3, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With the 2008-09 basketball campaign nearly here, UCF is clearly increasing its season ticket marketing campaign. One of the most visible signs of the campaign is a billboard located at State Road 408 and Goldenrod Road.

The billboard, which features senior guard Jermaine Taylor of the men's squad and sophomore guard Marshay White of the women's team, made its debut last week. The messaging on the billboard encourages fans to call (407) UCF-1000 today to order their season tickets.

According to associate athletics director for marketing and communications Joe Hornstein, other aspects of the marketing campaign include television commercials and radio spots. The television advertisements will run on UCF SportsKnight each week and will also appear on the Bright House Networks cable system.

On Sunday evening, the commercial ran during the UCF-East Carolina contest on ESPN.

A key component in the campaign will occur on Saturday evening when UCF holds the inaugural postgame madness. The free event, located at the UCF Arena, includes a chance to select your season ticket seat location, an inter-squad scrimmage for the men's team and an autograph session. UCF Postgame Madness will be held following the conclusion of the UCF-Southern Miss Homecoming football contest.

Taylor and his UCF teammates are slated to open the regular season on Nov. 16, hosting North Carolina A&T.

Notes: UCF head coach Kirk Speraw has been busy on the marketing trail as well. At last night's football game, he met with UCF supporters inside the Bright House Networks Stadium club lounge. He also appeared on the UCF ISP Sports Radio Network during the third quarter to talk about the upcoming year.
