ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands (UCFAthletics.com) - Wednesday brought the UCF women's basketball team to the court for the first time since arriving in the U.S. Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam. The Knights held practice Wednesday at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center.
While UCF practiced and held a film session to get ready to play No. 6/7 Baylor Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., the Knights also continued to experience the Virgin Islands with a catamaran tour and snorkeling trip, a gondola ride up the mountain to dinner and watching a bird show featuring numerous tropical birds.
Below is a timeline of the Knights' day in St. Thomas.
Wednesday, Nov. 25
- 6:30 a.m. - Wake-up call
- 7 a.m. - Breakfast at the hotel
- 7:40 a.m. - Depart hotel on the Heavenly Days catamaran for tour of island and trip to Buck Island
- 8:15 a.m. - Snorkeling in Wreck's Bay
- 11:30 a.m. - Lunch at the hotel
- 12:30 p.m. - Depart hotel via open bus for practice at the University of Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center
- 1:30-3 p.m. - Practice on the competition floor at UVI.
- 4:45 p.m. - Gondola ride up the mountain to Paradise Point
- 5:15 p.m. - Watched a bird show where tropical birds from all over the world did tricks including playing one-on-one basketball, riding skateboards and tricycles and various other tricks.
- 5:30 p.m. - Dinner at Paradise Point overlooking the harbor.
- 7 p.m. - Film Session to prepare for Baylor game Thursday.
