ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team returns home Friday to open its second season at UCF Arena against Florida A&M at 7 p.m. The Knights will play back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, their only two home games in the first month of the season.
Knights' fans that are unable to make it to the game and are looking to follow the action can listen to a live audio internet broadcast with Scott Adams on the call. The broadcast, through Stretch Audio Internet, can be accessed at http://ucfathletics.cstv.com/multimedia/ucf-wbb-stretch-sched.html.
Florida A&M comes to town for the home opener for the second time in the past three years. The Rattlers, under the direction of first-year coach LeDawn Gibson, have started 2-0 with victories over Albany State and Savannah State.
The Knights fell 86-59 at Colorado on Sunday, the second-straight season UCF has opened against a Big 12 opponent. While the game did not end with the result head coach Joi Williams was looking for, it was not void of positives.
Led by a career-high 17 rebounds from sophomore Emma Cannon, UCF won the rebounding battle 51-35. Cannon added a team-high 19 points, with 14 coming in the second half. Freshman point guard Aisha Patrick started at point guard and finished the game with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
