Taylor to Appear on Bright House Sports Network Monday

Nov. 17, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) of the UCF men's basketball team will be featured on the Bright House Sports Network Monday evening. Taylor, one of the top players in the nation, will appear on the High School Scoreboard. The program airs at 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday.

Each week on the High School Scoreboard, the program takes a look back at former prep standouts from central Florida. Taylor was a three-sport start at Tavares High School, where he played basketball, football and competed in track and field.

As a senior in 2004-05 on the hardwood, he averaged 25.0 points and 11.0 rebounds and was selected to the Florida Class 3A All-State First Team. Taylor finished second in the Florida Class 3A Player of the Year voting and was named the Orlando Sentinel Central Florida Athlete of the Year.

Bright House Sports Network's David Baumann spoke to Taylor about his high school career following UCF's 81-62 season-opening win over North Carolina A&T yesterday. Taylor totaled 28 points and 10 boards against the Aggies.

Bright House Sports Network is available locally on digital cable channel 47.

Taylor and the Knights will return to action on Tuesday at Valparaiso. The team's next home contest is slated for Dec. 6 versus cross-state foe USF.
