UCF's series with Marshall gets renewed this week and it has been one of streaks. The Thundering Herd won each of the first three meetings between the sides from 2002-04 as the two teams were members of the Mid American Conference. The Knights have won each of the last three meetings from 2005-07 as the two schools moved together into Conference USA.
The Knights bring one of Conference USA's leading defenses into Huntington as the Knights top the conference in passing efficiency defense and rank second in total defense. UCF is second in the nation in tackles for loss, eighth in interceptions and 12th in sacks. Marshall is also stronger in the defensive side of the ball than on offense, ranking second in C-USA in scoring defense and third in passing efficiency defense. Saturday is Homecoming in Huntington and the Knights will shoot for a repeat of their 2006 win there.
