ORLANDO, Fla. - ORLANDO, Fla. - UCF fans are invited on Saturday to help the Knights win the Conference Cup and also help needy Orlando-area residents. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committees of Conference USA have initiated a league-wide challenge to collect the most canned food for the SAAC C-USA Hunger Food Drive. The school which donates the highest weight in canned foods wins the Conference Cup.
UCF's donations will be given to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Fans can bring canned foods to one of two UCF sporting events on Saturday.
At 11 a.m. on Saturday, the women's basketball team plays its lone exhibition game of the preseason against DT3, a collection of former collegiate stars. Collections will be made at the front doors to UCF Arena.
At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, the UCF football team will play host to Southern Miss in the annual Homecoming game at Bright House Networks Stadium. Collections for football will be made at both Gate 5 (northwest corner) and Gate 14 (southeast corner).
