Freshman Marika Lendl (Bradenton, Fla.) shot a 70 to lead the UCF women's golf team in the second round of play at the Tar Heel Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the par-72 UNC Finley Golf Course. As a team, the Knights stand in 12th place out of 18 competitors after firing a second-round 306 for a total thus far of 615. Wake Forest currently leads the field with a tally of 585.

Lendl's 70 is her second of the young season and represents the team's lone under-par rounds of the season to date. She stands in sixth-place overall through two rounds with a two-over-par 146. Her 70 on Saturday tied for the second-lowest round out of the 91-golfer field.

May Tomimbang was second for UCF on Saturday with a 78 (+6). Stephanie Connelly and Jessy Tang each carded a 79 (+7) while Katie Detlefsen shot an 80 (+8).

Final round play at the Tar Heel Invitational will be held on Sunday morning.
