Women's Golf Slips Back to 15th Place

AUBURN, Ala. - The UCF women's golf team shot a combined 316 on Saturday in second round action at Auburn's Derby Invitational. The Knights stand in 15th place with a 626 at the Auburn University Club heading into Sunday's final round action. Arizona State is leading the field with a 584.

Senior Stephanie Connelly (Pasadena, Md.) was UCF's top golfer on Saturday with her 76 (+4) and tops all Knights through 36 holes at the event with a 154 (+10). Saturday saw freshman Marika Lendl (Bradenton, Fla.) shoot a 77 to rank second amongst her teammates on the day. Lendl is fourth overall amongst UCF golfers while senior May Tomimbang (Kissimmee, Fla.) is second overall on the team with a combined 155 through two rounds. Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) is third for UCF after 36 holes with a 158 while Jessy Tang is fifth with her 169.

Play concludes on Sunday with the final 18 holes of both the event and UCF's fall schedule.
