Competing at one of the nation's premier events, Johnson recorded a third-place showing at The Prestige at PGA WEST. Behind Johnson's performance, the Knights finished fourth at the 16-team event. Johnson carded a four-under 68 in the final round to finish at 211 (-5). He concluded the three-round tournament just a stroke behind TCU's Johan de Beer and UC Davis' Nate Pistachio, who shared medalist honors at six-under 210. After opening the event with a four-over 76, Johnson registered a five-under 68 in the second round. Behind Johnson's performance, the Knights finished the tournament ahead of six of the top-30 ranked teams in the country according to Golfweek.

UCF ended the event seven strokes ahead of fourth-ranked Washington as the Huskies finished in fifth. Johnson recorded his second-straight strong performance at the tournament in California. In 2007, he posted a sixth-place finish in the individual standings at 213 (-3). Starting Sunday, Johnson and the Knights will host the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational in nearby Windermere.
