ORLANDO, Fla. - The UCF women's golf team will play in its second tournament of the young season this weekend when it heads to Chapel Hill, N.C. to play in the Tar Heel Invitational.

The event will be held at the UNC Finley Golf Course, a par-72 course with a 6,285-yard layout. The 54-hole event will feature single rounds of 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Like last week when UCF opened its season at the Mason Rudolph Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt, the field at UNC is stout. Ten of the nation's top 25 teams will play at the Tar Heel Invitational, including No. 4 Tulsa, No. 6 Vanderbilt and No. 8 Virginia. UCF stands at No. 43 in the current Golfweek rankings.

The Knights were led at Vanderbilt by freshman Marika Lendl (Bradenton, Fla.) who finished the event with a 70 and a 72 in the final two rounds, making her the lone Knight to match and shoot below par at the event. Seniors Stephanie Connelly (Pasadena, Md.) and May Tomimbang (Kissimmee, Fla.) placed second and third for UCF, respectively.
