ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Four members of the UCF men's tennis team will be in action this weekend when the D'Novo All-American Tennis Championship begins Friday in Tulsa, Okla. Senior Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla.), junior Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) and sophomores Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) and Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) and are set to compete at the tournament for the Knights.
The event entails three days of qualifying that begins with 256 players. The prequalifying feeds into a 128-player event that starts Oct. 6. The main draw, which consists of 64 players, begins Oct. 9 and concludes four days later.
UCF's Conference USA rival Tulsa is hosting the prestigious event.
Last weekend, head coach Bobby Cashman's Knights were in action in Tampa at the USF Invitational. Romano went 3-0 at the three-day event, claiming the flight 2 title. Beigart, Sakey and Schwartz also participated in the tournament in Tampa.
UCF began its fall slate on Sept. 18 at the Southern Intercollegiate Championship.
