UCF Spirit Program Set to Perform During Wednesday's Orlando Magic Game

Oct. 8, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For fans attending Wednesday night's Orlando Magic game, they will not want to leave their seats during halftime. The UCF Spirit Team featuring the UCF cheerleaders and Knight Moves will be on hand tonight to show off their routine at Amway Arena when the Magic meet the Charlotte Bobcats at 7 p.m.

"It's a great opportunity to put our team members in a performance/competition setting," said head coach Linda Gooch. "We hear more about this halftime performance and when we go to the Pop Warner regional cheerleading competition than any other single event we make an appearance at. I think that's because people are very entertained and pleasantly surprised by UCF. And the Magic are wonderful supporters of us. They are very helpful and appreciative that we come out for their halftime."

The Knights remain one of the top spirit programs in the country, and they hope to make their mark once again on the national scene this season. About 50 members will be performing together Wednesday night.

The squad also will make an appearance during halftime of an upcoming UCF basketball game and at Spirit Splash during homecoming week. Those attending Spirit Splash activities can check out the UCF cheerleaders and Knight Moves when they kick off the festivities near the administration building.
