Football's Richard Jackson Cleared By NCAA

Sept. 5, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. - UCF redshirt sophomore wide receiver Richard Jackson (Clermont, Fla.) received clearance today from the NCAA to begin competing with the Knights immediately. Jackson transferred from Notre Dame and received a one-time transfer exception waiver due to personal hardships which have led him to transfer closer to home.

Jackson played in 12 games as a true freshman in 2006, seeing action on a total of 73 special teams snaps. He did not play during the 2007 season. He attended East Ridge High School where he was a first-team all-state pick at the 6A level.

The Knights return to action on Saturday night when they play host to No. 17 USF at 7:00 p.m. at Bright House Networks Stadium in a game to be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
