ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - This weekend, the UCF men's tennis team returns to action when it travels to Tampa to take part in the University of South Florida Invitational. UCF will be competing against Georgia State, Florida Gulf Coast and host USF.
The three day tournament will start Friday, and end Sunday.
When the Knights compete in this weekend's tournament, the entire team will be making the trip west. Among those competing this weekend will be junior Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden). He will be making his season debut. Last year, Beigart was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team.
Last weekend, four Knights took part in the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga. Competing in the tournament were seniors Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) and Tarek Ben Soltane (Tunis, Tunisia) and freshmen Joe Delinks (Falmouth, Mass.) and Eugene Dolgovykh (Palm Coast, Fla.).
The Southern Intercollegiate Championships was the first event of the season for the Knights. Sakey and Delinks advanced the semifinals in their doubles bracket.
