ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - This week's edition of UCF SportsKnight, a 30-minute television program about UCF Athletics, will be shown Tuesday at 5 p.m. on Sun Sports. The show, which is hosted by UCF graduate Jeff Sharon, will also air several times on UCF TV.
The episode includes a look into the men's basketball preseason workouts at the team's new practice facility. Sharon spoke to senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) and sophomore guard Taylor Young (Orlando, Fla.) about how the workouts will help the team during season, which begins on Nov. 16 with a contest against North Carolina A&T at the new UCF Arena.
Head coach Kirk Speraw and assistant coach Craig Brown are also interviewed during the piece. NCAA rules permit the Knights to workout twice a week prior to the start of official practices in October.
Junior Erica Weitz (Morganville, N.J.) of the UCF cross country team will also be featured during the show. Weitz lived in Florida as a youngster and began her running career with a race on the UCF campus as a two-year old.
Each week, UCF SportsKnight airs highlights from the past week in UCF Athletics, including the top three plays of the week.
UCF SportsKnight debuted the first week of September. The program is produced via a partnership between UCF Athletics and UCF TV.
UCF TV broadcasts the show several times each week, and episodes are also available as part of Bright House Networks' OnDemand programming. For the UCF TV schedule, visit ucf.tv.
Archived episodes of the program are also available on UCFAthletics.com and ucf.tv.
