GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Taking part in her first collegiate competition, UCF women's tennis freshman Andrea Yacaman (Cartagena, Colombia) survived the second day of action at the UF Gator Fall Classic Saturday. She posted her third victory of the tournament, as she claimed a three-set win over USF's Jessica Sweeting in the Flight B semifinals.
After earning two wins on day one Friday, Yacaman escaped with a 3-6, 7-6(2), 1-0(10-5) come-from-behind triumph over Sweeting. Yacaman will now take on Jennifer Stone of Kentucky in the finals Sunday at 8 a.m.
Several other Knights were on the courts as well on Saturday. However, rain interrupted most of the doubles matches, and they will attempt to finish those when UCF's first tournament of the fall season wraps up Sunday in Gainesville.
