MIAMI, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team had two players named to the FIU Invitational All-Tournament team Saturday night, as setter Lauren Rosenthal (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and right-side hitter Stephanie Serna (San Antonio, Texas) both earned a spot on the seven-player squad.
Rosenthal took control of the Knights' offense during the course of the tournament, racking up 64 assists, nine digs, six block assists and two service aces.
The sophomore recently earned the starting setter position after showing great poise against No. 13 Oregon earlier in the month, and has blossomed into the launching pad for the Knights' offensive attack.
Getting a great set was something Serna knew well over the weekend, as she posted 26 kills and a .322 hitting percentage, including a .556 clip in the win over Penn, a new career-high for the senior. Serna did not have a single attack error in the match against the Quakers, and also recorded a career-high six assists.
The Knights will hit the floor again on Sept. 18, when they take on C-USA-foe Southern Miss at the Southern Miss Invitational. UCF will also face McNeese State and North Texas at the event.
