UCF Knights (2-1, 0-0 C-USA)
The UCF volleyball team enters Tuesday's match with No. 2 Stanford with a 2-1 overall record after posting wins over Jacksonville and Presbyterian at the Georgia Southern Holiday Inn Invitational last weekend. The match marks the opening of The Venue at UCF and the first at home for the Knights in 2008. The first 1,000 students to attend the event against the Cardinal will be guaranteed a ticket to the UCF vs. USF football game on Sept. 6. Tuesday's match is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Stanford Cardinal (1-1, 0-0 Pac-10)
The Cardinal travels to Orlando Tuesday with a 1-1 record after stumbling in its season-opener vs. No. 7 Nebraska, 3-0, at the Runza/AVCA Showcase at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. But, Stanford bounced back in the second match of the tournament, handing No. 3 Texas a, 3-2, loss on Sunday. The Cardinal returns 10 letterwinners from its 2007 national runner-up squad, including 2007 AVCA National Player of the Year, Foluke Akinradewo and two-time AVCA All-American Cynthia Barboza. The Knights and the Cardinal will meet for the first time on Tuesday.

Hey Now, You're An All-Star
Outside hitter Janine Williams was named to the Georgia Southern Holiday Inn Invitational All-Tournament Team Saturday night. The sophomore posted two double-doubles in the tournament and averaged 3.87 kills and 2.07 digs per game. She also contributed five total blocks and six service aces.

In the Knights' match against host Georgia Southern, Williams registered 25 kills and 13 digs, and followed that up with a match-high 19 kills in the victory over Presbyterian later in the day. Her 58 total kills in the tournament led the team.

Home Sweet Home
The Knights will make their debut in The Venue at UCF Tuesday vs. No. 2 Stanford after playing in numerous temporary homes last season. Construction on the original UCF Arena began in 2007 to make the facility into the volleyball team's permanent home. The Venue also houses practice facilites for the UCF men's and women's basketball teams.

Aces are Wild
After totaling nine service aces at the Gerogia Southern Invitational, Jenny Heppert climbed two spots on the UCF individual career register to No. 8 with 121. The senior began the season tied for the 10th position with 112, and took sole possession of the 10th spot with two aces in the opening match vs. Jacksonville. Her three aces against host Georgia Southern launched her into a tie for the eighth spot, but Heppert used four service aces against Presbyterian to claim sole possession of No. 8 from Michelle Cutright.

Big Blocks
On Tuesday, Heppert has the chance to take sole possession of the fifth spot for block assists on the UCF individual career register. The middle blocker has 237 career block assists after posting 11 at the Georgia Southern Invitational last weekend. Heading into the event vs. Stanford, Heppert needs only one to tie and two to surpass Emily Queisser's mark of 238 set in 1995.

Diggin' It
Kristen Petrasic put her name into the UCF record books in the Knights' home opener vs. Jacksonville Friday night, after posting 31 digs vs. the Dolphins. The mark was the fifth highest for a single match and helped her team defeat the in-state rival for the 39th time in program history.

Double-Double Club
The Knights totaled eight double-doubles over the course of the Georgia Southern Invitational, with junior Erin Campbell recording a double-double in every match. The outside hitter opened the tournament with a career-high 22 kills and 13 digs vs. Jacksonville, posted 12 kills and 11 digs against Georgia Southern and concluded the event with 11 kills and 15 digs in the win over Presbyterian. Janine Williams and Andrea Youngblood accounted for two double-doubles apiece and Lauren Rosenthal registered her first as a Knight with 17 assists and 10 digs against the Eagles.

The Knights host the six-time national champion Stanford Sept. 2 at The Venue at UCF at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 students to arrive at the event will be guaranteed a ticket for the UCF vs. USF football game on Sept. 6.
